WARNING: INCOHERENT RELIGIOUS RANT Over the past few months, I have done a lot of introspection. I found myself questioning what I believed in on a more frequent basis than normal. Ive studied a few different religions over the past 5-6 years and have found something amazing and beautiful in each of them. I have also found (what I deem) terrible things within the holy text(s) and followers of said religions. I have come to realize that none of them are perfect. All of them are humankinds attempt to understand the divine (whatever that word may mean to you) and shape the human experience of/for their culture. Everyones god is all-mighty and all-powerful, yet they are all hidden in the sky, waiting to drop off a redeemer (multiple faiths have the concept of a type of messiah) to save mankind and begin anew. I think that I am having a hard time accepting that there is a being in the heavens that care about me/us and wants me to follow some creed/law wherein if I do not follow said creed/law, I will be burned for up to 12 months (Judaism) or eternity (Christianity).
