WCT Holdings is expected to seal an agreement on Friday, appointing New World Hotels & Resorts as the manager of its nearly completed hotel in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. Dubbed as New World Hotel Petaling Jaya, the deluxe hotel will come with 318 rooms and suites. It shall also feature a gymnasium, a restaurant, a rooftop bar, a 2,000 sq m ballroom, an outdoor swimming rooftop pool and New World’s signature Residence Club Living Room. Located on the top 12 floors of the 30-storey tower of The Paradigm, the hotel is expected to open by the end of 2015. It will be New World’s first hotel in Malaysia, but the company is planning to manage or own another one in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Touted as one of Asia’s leading hospitality groups that caters to business travellers, New World has already established a presence in Vietnam, China, Hong Kong and the Philippines. As for WCT Holdings, it currently operates Klang’s Premiere Hotel. Situated in Bandar Bukit Tinggi, the business hotel offers 250 rooms and suites. Opened in October 2010, the hotel is the company’s maiden venture into the hospitality industry. Notably, The Paradigm is WCT Holdings’ RM1.8 billion mixed-use commercial project in Kelana Jaya. Its remaining floors are occupied by its residential component known as The Azure, while the Paradigm Mall is included in the integrated development as well. Aside from its two other completed shopping malls namely gateway@klia2 in Sepang and Bukit Tinggi Shopping Centre in Klang, the developer is currently building another one at Johor Bahru under the Paradigm brand.
