WHAT YOU HEAR CAUSES SOMETHING TO GROW INSIDE: Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word. But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.” Luke 10:38-40 (NKJV) Position yourself to hear the Word! God’s Word belongs in front of your eyes, but it also needs to be in your ears. The responsibilities of daily life can become a distraction, and when they do, it’s easy to neglect our personal time with Jesus. Faith grows by hearing the Word of God (see Romans 10:17). If you’re not hearing the Word taught and preached your faith isn’t growing. And if faith grows by hearing the Word, fear grows by hearing the world. Keep your ears full of the Word. Don’t miss out on what Jesus has to share because you are occupied with other things.
