WHATS ON IN ECHUCA THIS WEEKEND? 19-20 October > Echuca Mini Marathon Echuca Mini Marathon is a 50km canoe marathon. The first day will be part of the traditional Day 3 course of the VicSuper Murray Marathon starting at the Barmah Bridge and finishing in Echuca, with the option to then paddle a second day (8km) consisting of a paddle race against the historic Echuca Paddlesteamers as part of the Sweat vs Steam festival. Friday 18 October > Star Hotel 3’s a crowd will perform live at the Star from 6.00pm to 9.00pm, followed by Sirens from 9.00pm to 1.00am. Saturday 19 October > Echuca Farmers Market Held at the Alton Reserve, Hare Street Echuca from 8.00am – 1.00pm. > Echuca Moama Show Market Day Held at the Showgrounds from 8.00am to 2.00pm. > Tongala’s Town-wide Monster Garage Sale Held 9am to 3pm. Sunday 20 October > Greater Murray YMCA Sweat Vs Steam Fun Run The Sweat vs Steam is a footrace against the worlds oldest wooden hulled paddle steamer - the PS Adelaide. The Run begins at 8.00am, however all registrations need to be done online prior to the day. > Old Moama Telegraph Station Open Day You’re invited to help celebrate Friends of Old Moama’s 10th Birthday. There will be an ‘All Things Tin’ display, morse code demonstrations, as well as a display of period costumes and photos of the local and surrounding district. Cutting of the birthday cake and raffle draw will take place at approximately 2pm. Held 10am - 3pm at Old Telegraph Station, 60 Chanter St Moama. Free Entry (coin donations welcome) >Tongala Open Garden and Vintage Car Display Open Garden and Vintage Car Display at Don and Robbie Graham’s home in Campbell Street Tongala. Julie Brooksby, a horticulturalist from Echuca will be available to answer questions. Then head back to the Aged Car activity centre in Purdy street, tongala to inspect the gardens and join us for Devonshire tea and sketching with artist Murray Ross.$10.00 includes Devonshire tea.
