WISDOM FOR LIVING. Grieve not the Spirit. Tuesday 9th September 2014. And do not bring sorrow to Gods Holy Spirit by the way you live. Remember, he has identified you as his own, guaranteeing that you will be saved on the day of redemption. Ephesians 4:30. NLT There are christians who believe and teach half-truths about our redemption that once youre saved youve been made righteous and holy not account of your efforts but of faith in Christ sacrifice and therefore what you do does not make you unrighteous because it is Gods free gift and nature youve received. Although this are actually foundational truths of the new creation, you have to make deliberate and continuous efforts through Gods Spirit to live a sanctified life: You are not to feel justified in your sins. Your hard works by the gift of righteousness produces from your spirit the fruits of righteousness, and you are known by your fruits Jesus said in Matt. 7:16. You are to live a life of daily concentration; presenting your body to God as a living sacrifice through your deliberate works. Eph. 2:8; Rom. 12:1. This is not the same as being sin conscious, but a spiritual alertness of always striving to press forward towards the mark of Gods higher purpose for you. So make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. Heb. 12:14 (NIV). In the Amplified version of Acts 24:16, Apostle Paul said I always exercise and discipline myself [mortifying my body, deadening my carnal affections, bodily appetites, and worldly desires, endeavoring in all respects] to have a clear (unshaken, blameless) conscience, void of offense toward God and toward men. Youve been given to sole responsibility not guild your heart (spirit) with all diligence and above everything else, cleansing it from everything that contaminates and defiles body and spirit, and to bring your consecration to completeness in the reverential fear of God. 2Cor. 7:1; Prov. 4:23. You grieve the Holy Spirit of God when He is not revealed and glorified in everything you do and say. So leave no such room or foothold for the devil; give no opportunity to him. Do not quench the Spirit; Be led by Him always. Let no foul or polluting language nor evil word nor unwholesome or worthless talk ever come out of your mouth, but only such speech as is good and beneficial to the spiritual progress of others, as is fitting to the need and the occasion, that it may be a blessing and give grace to those who hear it. Rom. 8:14; Eph. 4:27; 29; 1Thes. 5:19. Christ is your life. He displays you as a trophy of His victory and He wants you to always appear with Him in glory. Col. 3:4; 2Cor. 2:14. Therefore look carefully then how you walk! Live purposefully and be praise worthy in all things as wise. Making the very most of the time: buying up each opportunity, because the days are evil. Control your tongue: Never say the wrong things; then you shall be considered a perfect individual, able to control your whole body and to curb your entire nature. Eph. 5:14-21; James 3:2. Action plan: Strip yourselves of your nature [put off and discard your old unrenewed self] which characterized your previous manner of life and becomes corrupt through lust and desire that spring from delusion; And be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind [having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude]. and put on the new nature (the regenerated self) created in Gods image, [Godlike] in true righteousness and holiness. Eph. 4:22-24. AMP. Faith declarations: Thank you Lord for your love and grace. Forgive me of all my sins and cleans me from all unrighteousness. I declare I cant fail You and the great destinies dependent on me because youre able to keep me from falling, and to present me faultless before your presence of glory with exceeding joy in Jesus name, Amen! Apostle J.O.E.L Ukpebor. Further studies: Is. 60:1-3; Rom. 6:1-22; Jude 1:24; 2Tim. 2:19; Heb. 13: 20-22. https://m.facebook/thelifewayministry
