WORSHIP SONG for MONDAY - Even if were not all that familiar with boating we all understand the value and the purpose of a piece of equipment known as an anchor. The purpose is to secure the boat and keep it from drifting and the value - well, just get caught without one especially in a storm tossed sea and you will soon understand its value. Everybody, whether youre a sailor or not, needs an anchor, something to stop you from drifting and something to keep you secure. Every person uses something or someone to anchor their lives but everything other than ONE thing has limitations. Relationships, finances, education, power, occupation, possessions - they are all used as anchors but eventually they will fail you because those things themselves need anchors. The ONE safe and secure and never fail anchor is the LORD JESUS CHRIST and the Bible describes Him as an anchor both sure and steadfast and with HIM it says that we can find rest for our souls. Christ anchors our lives, secures our souls, keeps us from drifting and provides safety in the storms that inevitably come. What are your anchors and do they provide you with the security you need and desire? Ive tried them all and none is like JESUS, the Anchor of my soul and the One Who keeps me on course, safe and fastened to the bedrock of truth. He really is the One True Anchor!
