WSU 2014 Autographed Men’s Basketball to be Auctioned at Riverside Leadership Magnet Riverside Leadership Magnet Elementary School is a historic building over 100 years old located in beautiful Riverside neighborhood. Apart from its impressive academic standing throughout USD 259, Riverside boasts a phenomenal Outdoor Classroom, built as an extension to the traditional classroom. The intention of the space – to merge nature with learning – resonates with our students, staff, and community and we have built several partnerships, including WSU, who believe in our mission statement and our goal of creating an inspirational and educational learning environment for our students to flourish. WSU and especially it WU Crew has been an integral part of our journey, providing many volunteer hours to help this project see its end. They have generously donated a 2014 autographed basketball with all the signatures of the men’s team and the coach for us to auction off and raise money for the Outdoor Classroom. This rare piece of not only Shocker, but NCAA history will be auctioned off in a display case, along with a 2013 Sports Illustrated magazine autographed by Gregg Marshall, on Friday, April 11, at 7:30 PM, at Riverside Magnet (1001 N Porter). If bidders cannot attend personally, bidding can be done by proxy. Shocker Nation believes in investing in our Outdoor Classroom, something that is greatly appreciated by us since we receive no funding from any budget from USD 259 or Riverside’s PTO. WSU and its volunteers are an inspiration to our Wichita community, reaching out to our small elementary school and teaching our students that every bit of effort truly does make a difference. All proceeds from the autographed 2014 basketball will be directly invested into the completion of the Outdoor Classroom.
