WWE Hall of Famer added some more Q&As to his website: Hey JR. Would you be against Hogan hosting Mania if he isnt wrestling? Better than than a comedy promo with Santino. I think he had the charisma to pull it off, and is probably the best role for him.: Not sure what that role would entail. Likely better usage at WM30 for Hulk. Mr. Ross: A couple decades ago, when a mid-carder graduated to main events (e.g. Randy Savage, Ultimate Warrior, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Diesel, Bill Goldberg, DDP, Steve Austin, Rock), it was an exciting transition and the wrestler was henceforth firmly ensconced as a top star; you didnt see him demoted again to be an anonymous midcard player. Yet today certain wrestlers are promoted to the top and then quickly yanked back down a couple notches for no obvious reason. It makes it hard for fans to invest in following the talents. Your thoughts?: Several issues.....talents being used in main events that arent ready in first place, minute by minute ratings affect decisions & some talents take longer to become established in a primary role. Just a question on the “humour” in WWE for someone that could maybe see the light side of his friends doing silly things on TV. It seems in recent years (and certainly on the online version of the competition NXT) that a lot of stuff is put into TV to amuse those backstage, particularly Vince. Such as Michael Cole dancing or Vickies recent fainting attacks on Raw. I remember years ago as well Pat Patterson and Brisco dressing in drag. Surely for a company that will let go of talented employees (because its “best for business”) shouldnt air ANY content that is detrimental to the product if theyre so serious about making money? Surely anything that doesnt sell tickets or ratings will do nothing but harm the business? Particularly at a time when piracy and Tivo-ing is rampant in media.: Comedy is a tricky & challenging art form. Most wrestlers cant pull it off. JR. Thought I would solicit your ideas on something I dont think has been discussed... at least not in the last several months since I have been active. The Freebird Rule... The last time I recall it being used was with the Spirit Squad (I hear Dolph would like to forget that)... That and LayCool used it with the Divas title. It seems to me that would be a lock for a group like The Shield. What are your thoughts about it in general? Do you see it being used again? Also, what groups do you think it would be effective with.: Not a major proponent of the concept but it doesnt kill me if presented properly.
