Want a free photo session? I’m doing a drawing! Directions below: I am so grateful. My job allows be to connect with people I haven’t seen in ages, and make lovely relationships with total strangers. My clients start as clients, and turn into friends. Often times I will be editing and realize that I have a huge smile on my face while reliving these wonderful moments in their lives. Seniors with so much potential, youth, and excitement. Engagement sessions that portray the love that has grown between two people, then weddings where they make a lifelong commitment to each other in front of family and friends. Then I get to watch them grow as a family, which is my favorite part. Expectant parents with a sparkle in their eyes. That moment when they meet their bundle of joy, followed by the precious beginning moments of their lives, and all the greatness to follow. I am truly lucky to not only be able to witness these wonderful events, but to tell their story through my photos. I am giddy when prints arrive and I get to deliver the photos. I get butterflies in my stomach when a groom see’s his bride for the first time, and tear up at least once at every wedding. I am emotionally connected to my profession. I work every day, rarely take days off, but I love it all. Sure it’s hard to wear all the hats… managing schedules, planning shoots, editing photos, file management, ordering products, handling inquiries and consultations, keeping up on finances, managing and upgrading equipment, furthering my photography education to keep up with the fast paced evolving industry, and just keeping it all straight. But it’s those moments that keep me going, the way a mother looks at her newborn child, a similar expression as they watch that same child take their senior photos and wonder where the time went, and a look disbelief and pride as a father gives away his daughter on her wedding day. When I’m feeling overwhelmed, tired, and worn out, it’s easy to remember why I do what I do. It’s the people and their beautiful moments. Thank you for letting me into your lives and trusting me with such an important job
