An excellent opportunity has arisen to work for Vectis Trade Windows as a Warehouse and Storage Apprentice. Vectis Trade Windows is a Windows Fabrication business based in Ryde, who work within an industrial unit which houses a workshop and office. Working within a friendly team, you will be made to feel very welcome with realistic chances of career progression. The office can get very busy at times and there can be a lot going on at once. Ideally this vacancy would suit a fairly confident person. The successful applicant will be working on a Trade Counter as well as working within the Warehouse. Duties to include: Answering the telephone Asking questions and gaining accurate information Providing excellent customer service over the telephone, email and face to face Dealing with members of the building trade and providing the right tools for their trade Post Checking deliveries and, in time, making orders. If stock is running low then be mindful of this and make management aware Working as part of a small team at a new Trade Centre Lifting boxes, lengths of plastic, some practical tasks Learning about all of the equipment supplied Taking orders Invoicing Going out on site surveys with the Owner, learning how to measure up and various other tasks that will inform learning when working back at the counter. Skills Required IT Skills English skills Accurate numeracy skills (especially measuring, ordering and cash handling) Able to compose a letter or mailshot Good communication skills Willing to learn Someone who tries hard in everything that they do Attention to detail Able to make enquiries by asking the right questions Physical strength as some lifting will be involved Good memory Apprenticeship Framework Intermediate Level 2 Apprenticeship in Warehousing & Storage including QCF Diploma at Level 2, Functional Skills at Level 1, and Technical Certificate. Qualifications Required This employer is looking for someone with good social skills and a friendly personality however, although GCSE grades in English and Maths will be ideally needed, it would be more important for the person to be able to prove that they have good English and Maths skills in a work setting even if results do not reflect this.
