Warm Afternoons, Cool Nights and Plenty of Sunshine Ahead SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB) — High pressure is parked over the region and providing splendid weather for the second weekend of August. This weekend also features the second full “supermoon” of the year, and with clear skies, the photo opportunities should be endless! Tonight will be clear, calm and comfortable with lows near 50°. The record low at Westfield is 47° set back in 1999. It will be close, but a record low isn’t likely. Tomorrow will a copy of today, with abundance sunshine and a few cumulus clouds in the afternoon! It will be comfortable with highs in the middle and upper 80s. Monday will also be sunny with a few afternoon cumulus clouds. Highs will be in the middle 80s. The next chance for rain arrives late on Tuesday and then on Wednesday, when a hefty amount of rain may fall. A cold front and a low pressure system will make Wednesday a pretty dismal day. The weather should improve late week, but there will be a lingering chance for showers (similar to last Thursday and Friday).
