Warnings from Science The leaps in the development of science, technology and information technology have changed man’s thinking about this earth. According to the Word of God this earth and everything on it will be burned up (2 Pet. 3/10). Today, the enquiries of science also have also reached the same conclusions. Science puts forward many possibilities that could trigger the complete annihilation of the earth. Drastic changes in climate, increasing global warming, super tsunami, super volcanoes, C.M.E., collision with stray planets, incurable pandemics caused by virus are all such possible causes that could draw the curtains on the existence of life on earth. The scientific community may be unclear or may not be unanimous regarding when these phenomena could happen. But certain people who negate God hold that physical laws and chance control and guide the course of the universe. They who are of the opinion that even if these catastrophies may one day befall on earth, they will not happen in the foreseeable future, are in fact in a delusion. Some others who believe that man is invincible and he can achieve anything with his brain, vainly dream that man will overcome all these causes of destruction on his own and will find a safe haven on other planets one day. But they are unwilling to accept the truth that it is through the Word of God that everything was created and that it is the same Word that sustains all these things and that everything will be destroyed when these Words of God are withdrawn (2 Pet. 3/5-7). Man, who has become a slave of pride and self-glory, is not ready to acknowledge that God is the Creator of this universe and the One who is in control of its history. God has in fact proved that He is able to destroy this earth and the surroundings that are required for life to remain on this earth within the parameters of the same physical laws. For example, no trace of life is seen in the places where Sodom and Gomorrah once stood even today. The laws of physics are set by the Divine Wisdom. The majority of scientists agree to the fact that if these laws and the physical consonants determined by these laws had been slightly different from what they actually are now, human life would not have existed on our planet (This is postulated in the Anthropic Principle). According to the Word of God, this universe was created for the Children of God. The Children of God were not created for this universe. Human beings are not the outcome of a mere random play of chance or the inevitable end line of the simple cell division. God gave birth to His Children not in order to be subject to the laws of physics. Instead, He wanted them to have dominion over the universe (Gen. 1/26-28, Sir. 17/3-4). A complete person consists of body, mind and soul. The Will of God is that this whole person must have dominion over laws of physics. Though the Children of God lost this dominion to satan due to sin, their body will be redeemed in the Salvation they are about to receive (1 Pet. 1/5, Phi. 3/20-21). God has proclaimed that He will remove the dominion of physical laws (Is. 25/6-8). So, God can fulfill the Divine Righteousness by destroying the earth even by going beyond the physical laws. He is not bound by them. The miracles and signs described in the Holy Bible testify this. Ws. 12/12-15 - For who will say, What have You done? Or will resist your judgment? Who will accuse You for the destruction of nations that You made? Or who will come before You to plead as an advocate for the unrighteous? For neither is there any god besides You, whose care is for all people, to whom You should prove that You have not judged unjustly; nor can any king or monarch confront You about those whom You have punished. You are righteous and You rule all things righteously, deeming it alien to your power to condemn anyone who does not deserve to be punished. So, when science gives warnings about the possibilities that can trigger the total annihilation of everything on the earth, we can save ourselves if we can see them as the warnings about the imminent downpour of Divine wrath and the implementation of Divine Righteousness.
