Was at the Dr.s office for an annual check up this morn, and there was a new nurse who was Black. I told her I was happy to see some diversity in the office. Aside from one of the Dr.s, shes the only other Black staff. She said she sometimes feel uncomfortable in the office because one of the girls who work there always talks about when she worked in the ghetto, and another always talks about living in Greece, but she wants to move to Pittsford because Greece is becoming too ghetto. I told her if it makes her uncomfortable, she should speak up. No one should have to sit around where they work and suffer through verbal abuse from a person who feels they are better than because theyre a different race. Thats exactly what it is, verbal abuse. FYI, people of all races can be considered ghetto, but we know she was referring to Blacks people. I will NEVER stand for verbal abuse from anyone because of the color of my skin. #lovetheskinimin
