Watch out #Canberra, SCAMwatch is warning consumers to be on the lookout for energy billing scams currently doing the rounds. An email claiming to be from reputable energy companies is being distributed, claiming that you owe their company money for an outstanding bill. The email will have fake account numbers, summaries or billing period details and contain a link which when clicked, may infect your computer with malicious software. Remember to never give your bank account or credit card details to someone who you do not know or trust, and stay vigilant when using online services.
