Watching business news is a big part my daily routine. I rely on it to help me manage our investments. Since the Repubican shutdown, it has gotten so sad and scary to hear guest after guest describe how they are laying off people, postponing capital investments, unable to make or get small business loans, equity and bond investors are holding back, business growth has plateaued or declined, and on and on. World competitors are working to take business from US companies. China wants the world to wean from the US dollar as the common world currency. Wall street is definitely blaming the Republicans and pleading with them to open the doors for business. Im stymied just as the experts are stymied. As you know we just visited Alaska and enjoyed the great seafood. A commercial Alaskan fisherman was on saying his business is shutdown because he cant get a federal commercial fishing license. Holiday plans are on hold by many orgaizations which trickles down to caterers etc. There are so many small business sad stories. I can hardly watch the business channels any more. Changing to news channels is just as bad. Watching I Love Lucy reruns reminds me of the only thing watchable after the 9/11 attacks.
