The GCFA not only makes the decision for you when you cant afford to take your pet to the vet and instead drop it off at the shelter for us to - we are able to because someone made a donation and because a volunteer stayed up for hours nursing your forgotten pet to try and give her another chance. In March, we will have an influx of ferrets again because the Christmas new-ness will have worn off. The cuteness goes away. The poor research rears its head as this amazing creature requires your love and attention. It eats. It poops. It bites (because shes starved for attention or shes a baby exploring her world). It stinks (because you need to change her bedding). When you bring your ferret to us, weve heard every reason. Please do the best you can for her by telling us everything you know. Shes being surrendered to people who will love her and want to love her on her terms. And remember, your unwanted pet is not a donation. Your dollars are.
