We are excited to see the added likes to our page and promise to get more frequent updates! We have been busy cutting and bailing hay and making room in the barn to store it. Before now the barn was not used for what it was intended. Bob and I both always dreamt of owning a barn. Well he may have dreamt of the whole farm..I was just the barn admirer. :-). Our barn is large and in very good condition. The beams are made of chestnut wood and do not show their age. The fact that they are chestnut wood means the barn was built before the chestnut blight of 1912-1914. So instead of just being a place to store things...the barn is getting fenced in..gated and filled full of hay. The reason why they are so large. Before you could find lots of things of days gone by in our barn. Remnants of the past. Old hay, and straw..old feeders, and other farm gadgets. I am always asking..what is this? Mostly there has been no shortage of broken glass on this farm. I think the old farmers thought it would just go away. With lots of hard work and planning our barn will finally be used for what it was intended.
