We are so unbelievably blessed by the great interactions weve had with Wonders & Worries. Their staff is amazing, and they have really helped nurture us through our journey, from the initial decision to have the kids visit their mommy at Seton Hospital on the day of her passing to our decisions about the upcoming holidays. Even though we are in a good place, with Maureen Diercxsens Thompson love all around us, it still helps to make conscious and informed decisions as we move forward. One of those decisions is what we want our holidays to look like. The kids reflected that after such a crazy month and so much activity, they wanted this upcoming week of Thanksgiving to be a week of quiet, time for us to be alone and to walk the first steps of our journey together with each other. They said Christmas is always busy, which they love, so now is the time for quiet. Well use Thanksgiving to reflect, and Christmas to celebrate and honor mommy! So, we will be going quiet. Im going to make a couple of more posts to Facebook tonight, and then, although I will be writing and reflecting, I wont be posting or tweeting again until Monday, December 1... yeah, yall might be expect this to be hard for me, but so was giving up soda, and I still havent had a sip of that since Maureen started her newest treatments. Maureens fight was clearly tougher than mine, but I had to do something to show her that I was with her every step of the way. Out of love, this will be my new normal, just like being bald.
