We finished the BMT yesterday at 6:45 PM. 287.6 miles in 19 days. It was an awesome journey and one that I will never forget!! I must say, it was 10 times harder than the AT! We only saw one other thru hiker (a south bounder on our last day coming out of GSMNP) and just a handful of hikers. It is a much wilder trail in every sense of the word! We were in the Wilderness areas the majority of the time and our animal/nature encounters were much more numerous, intense and, after yesterdays experiences, way more dangerous!!!!! We all lost more than 10 lbs (I lost 12 lbs) and we are pretty beat up. I have to go see about getting my phone fixed today and will post pictures and tell you about the 10 bears, 2 rattle snakes, 1 scorpion, swarm of bees, 2 mountain falls, and incredible terrain that we encountered later. Its so good to be home but I will miss Mama T and Jetlag terribly!
