We have 3 more days! The deadline for public feedback on the dangerous BRAI Bill is this Friday. It’s time for one last effort to ensure safe food in India and we need your support. Our government is trying to introduce the BRAI Bill to give easy approval for GMOs (Genetically Modified Organisms) in our food and farming. This is alarming because it would expose us to dangerous and untested GM food. However, more than 18,000 people have signed Nandita Das’s petition asking for this Bill to be withdrawn. And we want the Chairperson of the Standing Committee to know this. This Friday, before the deadline ends, we will meet the Chairperson of the Standing Committee that will review the BRAI Bill. We will submit this petition with all the signatures to him. We want him to know that there is growing public pressure demanding the withdrawal of the Bill. Thousands of citizens have protested and taken action on ground and online in the last few days. We even delivered a symbolic GM-free Indian national flag to the Prime Minister’s office before Independence day. Now, it is time to put one last effort in strengthening our voices against the BRAI Bill and dangerous GMOs. We need at least 30,000 signatures on the petition to showcase public support.
