Webber’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) held its fifth huddle of the semester in the Babson Center on Tuesday evening. The praise and worship session included “Amazing Grace My Chains Are Gone” and “How He Loves Me” led by Senior, Luke Brigham on guitar. A member of the community and FCA guest speaker, Leroy spoke about real world experiences and how letting God lead will alleviate outside pressures that are generally associated with everyday college student life. He explained how the college experience can draw you nearer to God and how the decisions that students make right now can affect their generations to come. Ms. Faith Canoy Gallian, whom is affiliated with the South Lake Wales Church of God, will attend the FCA Huddle next week to inform students about the upcoming Trunk-N-Treat in Lake Wales. The FCA Huddle is communicating with Ms. Canoy Gallian to organize this volunteer opportunity for Webber students to get involved. Students were also informed of the “Thanksgiving Food Drive” hosted by the Lake Wales Care Center. Donation boxes will be setup in several locations on-campus for faculty, students, and staff to donate nonperishable food items. A list of suitable items for donation will be posted above each box location on campus. The FCA Huddle Leader, Chuck Kelly spoke about the benevolence fund and the organizations intention to send Bibles to El Salvador, Venezuela, and Columbia The goal is to provide the scripture to remote places abroad that are lacking sufficient funds and resources. FCA intends to complete this project by the end of the Fall 2014 semester. All faculty, staff, and students are invited to attend FCA in the Babson Center on Tuesday evenings at 8:00pm.
