Wedding ring search, but no recovery Several weeks ago a call was received from a boater who had lost his wedding band after jumping into the water from his boat. Search and recovery attempts were made by Jim Kozlowski, Ron Carlisle and Michael Carlisle without success. Today I attempted to recover the missing item after establishing a perimeter to contain the search area. Unfortunately, the effort was also without success. The dive was not a total failure as it provided ample practice with the underwater metal detector. On two possible hits, I thought I was going to get lucky. One appeared in the shape of a ring and the other had the feeling of a ring as I pulled it from the silt. As you can see, neither item proved to be the missing wedding ring. Plenty of aquatic life today including a large flathead catfish, a school of small, elongated striped fish (possibly juvenile black striped bass), several perch and two large live mussels opening and closing as they flushed water. Today the metal detector continued to pay for itself, with one 1968 quarter.
