Wednesday 17 September 2014 Determination: A School Value Today, Disney rakes in billions from merchandise, movies and theme parks around the world, but Walt Disney himself had a bit of a rough start. He was turned down 302 times before he got financing for his dream of creating the “Happiest Place on earth”, or Disney World as we know it. After that, Disney started a number of businesses that didnt last too long and ended with bankruptcy and failure. “If you can dream it, you can do it,” Disney said. Disney went on to produce the first animated film with sound, among other new productions. He created Mickey Mouse, one of the most recognizable cartoon characters in the world, in 1928. And along the way he invented Disney World. He had many dreams, and he had the courage and the determination to make them come true. He wondered and he dreamed and he acted. And he changed his world. “Always remember that this whole thing started with a big dream and a small mouse,” said Walt Disney. Look into your center and everything will be clear.
