Good morning all, I received notification on December 23rd that I will be transferred back to the Community Action Officer position within the 71 squad area effective Monday. My work hours will be Monday thru Thursday 0500-1500 hours. The testing process, (yes I had to test) brought to light an interesting fact I would like to share with you. When I took this position over in 2010 we had ten active groups within my area. In the almost four years partnering with the community we grew that number to thirty five active groups. Among them are residential, multi-housing and business groups. That is the result of teamwork and it is not possible without community involvement and dedicated citizens. As we move forward into the new year I will need your help to remain efficient and to be able to offer the best service possible. When sending an email please add your association or group name in the subject line. This makes my records keeping much easier and also provides for quick updates to supervisors within the department. Together we have built an extraordinary relationship between the police and the community. We have a solid foundation to strengthen our bond even more. In future communications I will release information about community outreach ideas I have that are specific to our area but need city approval. I am going to focus heavily on you the stakeholder, the preservation of life (your safety) and protection of your property. The strength is in the numbers so to be successful we need to remain working as a team. I am grateful for the opportunity to be able to work with you all again and serve as your Community Action Officer.
