Well done to the 156 of you that turned out for Capalaba parkrun #20 today. That was our biggest group since we launched back in August! We had 35 first timers including a number of parkrun tourists visiting us from other events and an incredible 34 people smashed their PB today which was very impressive in the warm conditions! We hope you liked our brand new course markers, the feedback I received was all positive, so thanks. Unfortunately we had 19 people finish today who either forgot their barcode or hadnt registered...if you would like your times recorded and your runs counted you must remember to bring your barcode each week as we are unable to provide you with a time if you dont. The parkrun mantra is - Dont Forget Your Barcode. First across the line today and also our 1st female was Emily Davies who ran an impressive 19:18 which was only 5 seconds off our female course record. Congratulations Emily. First male to finish was another first timer, Warren Foster who finished with a time of 19:29. Congratulations Warren. Both Emily and Warren are from the same running club and I believe were visiting us from Newcastle today. Thanks for visiting, we hoped you liked our course. Great job by all our volunteers today, without you we dont have an event, so appreciate you giving up your time to help us out. Next week we only have one volunteer spot left to fill and its our 20min pacer...I realise that rules out quite a few of us, but if youre one of those speedy sub-20min runners and can help us out next week please get in touch. The following weeks still have a few vacancies, so get in quick before theyre all gone...check out the future roster to see whats available and get in touch (Ill put some links in comments below). The weekly Wicked Brew vouchers have been drawn and the winners are: for the volunteers, Doug Klitscher who was our barcode scanner today, Doug has already been given his voucher for 10 free coffees today. Our lucky runner was Brooke Wolski. Please get in touch with us before next week Brooke to claim your prize, otherwise we will redraw for another lucky person. Remember Wicked Brew not only give us two vouchers each week to give away but they give us a 15% discount on their entire menu every Saturday, you just need to present your barcode to claim the discount...another good reason to be registered and to not forget!
