Well, heres ONE way to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. We took a shellacking largely because the party wouldnt unite around his achievements and policies (with which the candidates were all linked anyway) and make the case for them, and in making him a pariah they seemed to concede the Republican message. Well, those jerks lost. He doesnt have to deal with a bunch of little Joe Manchins in the party (one is bad enough). Because he didnt campaign for these losers, there was no painting himself into a centrist (really, right wing) posture. Now is the time to reinvigorate all the Democrats from Obamas base who didnt bother to troop down and vote for centrist Democrats who seemed embarrassed and apologetic about millions of Americans finally getting health insurance, embarrassed about a fall in unemployment, embarrassed about historic growth in GNP, embarrassed about a huge drop in the deficit, and about all his other achievements.
