Well my first Kalamazoo conference is over. What a brilliant experience meeting and talking to amazing Tolkien academic colleagues including Douglas Anderson, John Rateliff, Dimitra Fimi, Brad Eden, Verlyn Flieger, Deidre Dawson, Kristine Larson, Jane Chance, Chris Vaccaro, Eileen Marie Moore, Brent LandonJohn Wm. Houghton, Thom Foy and many others and to hear such wonderful papers and get such great feedback on my first paper for Kzoo (first of many). From The Fall of Arthur to Merlin to the secret language codes on The Franks Casket and Jesse Byocks talk on Viking excavations at Mosfell this has been an amazing conference and I look forward to next year. Back to the UK tomorrow with a slightly heavier suitcase full of books!
