Well my good people, another year has passed and my birthday is approaching again. Prior to my last birthday I said This Afro Beat type music is just a fad that wont last another year look now...DJs that saw the light at the end of the tunnel was really a train have jumped off that band wagon - just like they jumped off the Neo Soul (((La La Music as I called it))) band wagon. So...I guess House Music DJs are going to get back to playing four on the floor beating ass dance music that make people sweat! For old cats like me...dance till the knees hurt. House Music has finally come back to the point where the Rubber meets the road and the Kum-by-ya folk are the MINORITY again - which is a great thing!!! I spoke with Corky Traxman Strong in great detail about this - early this morning. What a lot of people dont know is...we talk VERY regular. Much as SOME in Chicago attempt to belittle me in this music game - ask yourself one simple question. Why is it that the things I post effect yall so much? How about I post TRUTH. The last time I played Chicago, my son was graduating High School. Since then, he joined the Army, did a year of training and just completed a TWO year tour of duty in Korea and will be back stateside in about a week...Hmm. He & I kicked it at House In The Park Atlanta 2013, been years since my son & I kicked it in Chicago at a House Music party...hmm??? I told all my Atlanta peeps FOUR years ago to look for Chicago contamination to rear its head in Atlanta. Many didnt feel me then - but now? Oh I have been getting calls about goings on that people really dont appreciate. The House Music is divided slogan is a myth - the truth is - some are selfish and can not even give a name of a younger DJ that they mentored into becoming a successful DJ. There is a 20 year old DJ that I gave all the knowledge I could to, since he was 13 years old. Now...he been killing em since he was 17. Mark my words, If you have not mentored a younger DJ, when you become as has-been, who is gonna speak highly of you? People in your age peer group that young people are not listening to anyway? Yep, that is your future! Whereas DJs like myself will be getting accolades from DJs who are half my age & some change. Now maybe cats will wake up and see what selfish gets you...its gets YOURSELF patting you on the back!!!
