Well, okay, “gay marriage”, “equality” and “same love” are 3 words I avoid in my work. To be more concrete, they are my nightmares. In Ireland, expectedly, it is a heated debate at least until the Referendum in 2015. Marriage is a piece of the jigsaw not the jigsaw itself, as one activist puts it, but it is a true opportunity to shake public opinions, a tool for trans recognition and a ground for joint unity against conservatism. Not to mention a great chance to fight against the Church which controls more than 90% of Irish schools and to generate media interest.
