Well that trip to Lidl was eventful. Goes in, wants bread rolls. Sees a fresh batch going into the baskets and thinks to myself Great timing. I proceed to carefully pick out what I need when the guy working there says Ay mate, do you mind using the tongs?. So I say Theres no need for me to use the tongs as you can clearly see that I am making damn sure I am not touching anyone elses bread. Then he throws the tongs into the bread basket with the handle of the tongs touching the bread. Now I can see his point. Hes right. But not with this customer he aint. I can assure you young man that what I just did compared to what you just did is far more hygienic. Youve just put the handle of the tongs which has been touched by a thousand hands directly onto the bread and contaminating it. Whereas I picked out each individual roll with clean washed hands and not touching any other bread in the process. And if you want to be really picky about it then use baskets that cover the bread so that nobody can touch, cough or sneeze on the bread. Double standard and legalistic ( instead of reasonable ) dick weasel.
