Well, this is my first real exposure to African literature, and I was most definitely not disappointed. The story, while not fast paced by any means, provides some very interesting insights as to what it takes to be a man, and it also touches upon the universal struggles between fathers and sons. Parts Two and Three of the book also addressed an event I am particularly interested in: the colonization and Christianization of Africa. Very interesting and informative, in my opinion.
