Well time to say thank you to all my supporters in the recent civic election. As you know I did well but not well enough to secure a seat on the next council. I want to thank you all for your vote, your help and putting up with me for the last eight weeks. I really had a great time and learnt a lot. Would have preferred a different result but certainly enjoyed the experience. As I said at the beginning, I would rather try and not get in than not to try at all. I had so much support from so many of you in the unique way you could help and I thank you for everything you did. I was touched by so many of you for your outreach in whatever way you could help. Many of you I had not heard from for a long time and suddenly you appeared offering support and help in many ways. Many say the campaign trail is nasty but for me there was many highlights and most people I encountered were outstanding. I celebrated little wins along the way and celebrated many of them with you by my side. My daily escorts were so appreciated and you know who you were. Whether out shaking a sign in the cold with me, attending a forum and working my table, being my date at a social/business event, putting up and fixing signs, helping with an event, door knocking with me or distributing my materials in neighbourhoods I appreciated every minute of your time and commitment to the democratic process.
