Went out for an easy three yesterday morning, my first run since the Marine Corps Marathon two weeks and two days ago. Didnt feel too peppy. Definitely felt the effect of the new running shoes I was wearing (hurrah for ASICS). New shoes are stiff before theyre broken in and my legs were feeling it after only one mile. Heard a weather report this morning. The low in Washington, DC last night was 32 F. Brrrrr. Im glad the race wasnt this week. High today in Los Angeles will be 90 F. Their loss is apparently our gain. Still a bit amazed at the past three months. But the time, still in the stopwatch function of my watch, says that it was not a dream. I really did it. Thanks to my east coast family for the carb loading dinners and for coming to the start and finish lines to cheer me on and to Greta for her support for and delight in what I did.
