Went to knowetop primary so we went into dairy shop on manse on way (Mr Allen I think with his 70 year old assistant mini). We all usually had max of 5pence each to spend. I usually just had 1 or 2 pence. Cola bottles were 1 pence like they are now. We hung our heads over the display for ages like it was the hardest decision a person could make. In p1, crisps were 2 & a half pence. We played British bull dogs in the old shed or chain tig next to the old tree in the middle of the playground. School lunch in the dinner hall with a monitor on every table to make sure u ate your steamed sausages (that looked like the wrong type of wieners) , lumpy mash and pees that tasted like pee. Followed by semolina
