Weve been talking a lot about the 3M Cloud Library this month. Scott Caudell (thanks, Scott!) asked us what the difference was between 3M and Overdrives Media on Demand. In case you missed it, heres a quick reply to that question: While the 3M Cloud Library is a much smaller collection, it is just for Oak Park cardholders, and you will likely have a shorter wait time for holds. Media on Demand (MOD) from OverDrive is a consortium of local libraries that Oak Park belongs to, which translates in to more buying power and more selection. Some books will be in both collections, but its good to check both for availability. For Kindle users, MOD is your best bet, since 3M only works with Kindle Fire devices. Finally, MOD has ebooks, audiobooks, and videos, 3M only ebooks. Apps for both are available in the Apple App Store and Google Play. More questions? Let us know at [email protected]
