What a great time in New York again but need to get home now and take care of other stuff. I cannot thank my friend Mindy Nix who allowed me to reside at her brownstone on 75th St. Because of her work schedule and my tourist stuff we only saw each other one time over the four days- otherwise we communicated by leaving notes- the old-fashioned way. I was able to surprise Haley Carter and saw her show twice. Great Job- nothing like a little Noel Coward. I also had a list of 11 students and friends whom I worked in the theatre in the past. I saw all but two of them. Then I had a Castle Parker touch base with me that was great. So it was a trip that I spent time visiting. Theatre wise saw three shows other than Haleys which included Bridges of Madison County-a beautiful score with a great cast done the old school way. Then I got to see Sir Ian McKellan and Patrick Stewart plus Billy Crudup (Chapel Hill graduate) and Shuler Hensley(graduated from my high school in Atlanta) in the two shows-No Mans Land and Waiting for Godot. The first including a talk back with the actors-a master class for the audience. Both were amazing theatrical experiences. Lucky me! Thanks, Brian Letchworth for the suggestion and going to the first one with me and Tyler Prow to the second.
