What am incredible way to end our 1,045 mile trip that crossed 9 states and saved 6 precious lives. Our friend A Journey with Atlas made this trip 10 months ago as an emaciated dog with the most hollow eyes. When I saw him tonight, I was reminded of the awe-inspiring spirit of these animals. Atlas is almost unrecognizable with his shiny coat, full frame and soulful eyes. His family brought him back to life with love. As I look at precious Penny, it hurts to see a dog so uncomfortable and with that all too familiar hollow gaze. I can only look forward to the day when I barely recognize her.
