What follows below is from last Friday’s Bucks County Courier Times. The article lists new Pennsbury QB Mike Alley at 6’3”, 205 pounds. The Trentonian had him at 6’4” and 215 pounds. FOOTBALL: Courier Times two-minute drill — by Dan Dunkin Hands-down, Archbishop Wood and Pennsbury are the two best teams in the Courier Times coverage area. An intriguing storyline for both involves the new starting quarterbacks. My feeling is that both Mike Alley at Pennsbury and Anthony Russo at Wood will make the teams more dynamic offensively. Alley, a 6-foot-3, 205-pound junior, was a huge loss for Conwell-Egan, from where he transferred and where coach Jack Techtmann and his staff have done an impressive rebuilding job, much of it with Alley as the centerpiece. He was given official clearance to attend and play for Pennsbury at a combined District One/District 12 hearing this week. Alley will make his first Pennsbury start Friday night at home against Frankford. The timing seems excellent, because this is one of Galen Snyder’s best teams, and he unexpectedly lost two-year starter Breon Clark last summer. Clark transferred to St. Frances Academy in Maryland. Clark had a strong arm and wanted to use it more. He’s more of a runner than Alley — who is quite mobile — but Alley is a better passer, and it will be interesting how much Snyder’s run-heavy wing-T utilizes its new weapon. He’s a traditional passer, very accurate, Snyder said. He has a lot of poise, he’s a good kid, a smart kid, and good ballplayer. Pennsbury junior Rob Daly, an excellent athlete who starts at free safety, did a fine job at QB last week vs. CR South and will return to defense this week....
