What is the difference in the devotional service of Prahlad Maharaj and his grandson Bali Maharaj? Lord Narasimhadev was vey furious after killing Hiranyakasyapu because of His anger. He was very angry with Hiranyakasyapu because he was causing a lot of problems to His devotee Prahalada Maharaj. Lord cannot tolerate if His devotee is in any kind of problem. To prove his devotee correct Lord can do anything. So he appeared from the piller when Hiranyakasyapu asked Prahalada Maharaj is your Lord in the pillar. Lord is known as Ajita but he becomes conquered by His devotee. Prahalada Maharaj is so merciful that He is praying Lord Narasimhadev that may all the envious person may be pacified including His father Hiranayakasyapu. Actually enviousness is the cause that we have this material body. Because we were envious of Krishna we have to accept this material body. Krishna is so merciful that accompanies us in form of Paramatma through 84 lakhs yonis, waiting when this living entity will turn towards Me. Why will Lord be not merciful. He is the source of all mercy and He loves us. We are His dear children. I dont know whether the Demigods were aware or not of this incarnation. If not, may be because Lord wanted to show His devotees that He can take incarnation anywhere and anytime to protect His devotees. In Bhagavata Gita also Lord says that my devotee never perishes. Prahalada Maharaj was a disciple of Narada Muni whereas Bali Maharaj was a disciple of Shukracharya. When Hiranyakasipu was doing tapasya, her wife was pregnant. Demigods abducted Hiranayakasipus wife thinking that she will give birth to a more powerful demon than Hiranyakasipu. Narada Muni told the demigods that how do you know that she will give birth to a demon, she may give birth to great devotee of the Lord. Narada Muni took her to her ashrama. Prahalada Maharaj when was 5 years old, He asked His friends not to waste time in playing, they should worship and please Lord Vishnu. Krishna is the orignal Vishnu. This purpose of this life is to satisfy Vishnu. Eventually all His friends became devotees. When Hiranayakasipu asked Prahalada Maharaj what has He learnt. He began to glorify Vishnu. Hiranayakasipu got angry and even tried to kill Prahalada Maharaj many times but Lord protected Him. Hiranayakasipus sister had a benidiction that she cannot be burnt. So she took Prahalada Maharaj on her lap and sat in a bush which was to be put on fired. In spite of the benidiction she was burnt and Prahalada Maharaj was saved. Lord protect His devotees in all the conditions as a mere price of faith. Lord awards us according to the faith we have in Him. Bali Maharaj was always give dakshina to Bramhanas. When Lord Vaman Dev came fo ask Dakshina from Him. His spiritual master asked him not to give. He thought He will all the Dakshina to Lord Vaman Dev but he disobeyed His Spiritual Master and as a result He became a Mahajana. He never said no to Bramhanas. Lord Vaman Dev asked 3 steps of land and in 2 steps He covered the entire universe. He asked where to keep the 3rd step. Bali Maharaja asked Him to step on His head. Lord was so pleased that he became a door keeper of the Bali Maharaja. Lord is unconquerable but He becomes conquered by His devotees. Thats is why He is sometimes tied by Mother Yasoda. Lord can be conquered by only Love and Devotion. Chant these names with love and you will feel the ecstasy: Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare ... Hare Krishna ...
