What now?! Book Bucket Challenge? And I was still just gearing up for that Ice Bucket thingy! :O So Gaurav Chauhan, Arun Kuthanazhi and Medha Dwivedi (her only few people list it seems) - Challenge accepted :D My everlasting tryst with Books starts from the day my Dad discovered that forsaken Gremlin-stricken (how I wish!) Washing Machine that contained heaps of books, the pages cold for 8 long years, once and still belonging to my late Grandfather! So most of the books from in there have made up to the top 10! 0. A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking (Special Mention, since it replaced my 10+2 NCERT Science textbooks, back-benches times!) 1. Harry Potter Series by Joanne Jo Rowling (Then, Now and Forever) 2. One Thousand and One Nights/Arabian Nights (For all the dance-drama performances my mother used to put me into!) 3. Frankenstein by Mary Shelley (For I fell in love with a monster!) 4. Enid Blyton series - (For our amazing school librarian Chengappa Miss just let us take them all!) 5. A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens (Time travel it is, simply) 6. O.Henrys American Scenes ( _/\_ Fourteen chapters of internal roller coaster) 7. Adventures of Huckleberry Finn By Mark Twain ( Grammatical errors and misspellings were never THIS fun! ) 8. Seven Years in Tibet by Heinrich Harrer (For it brought in the Mountain madness inside me!) 9. Sherlock Holmes - first in bits and pieces - and then that one BIG compilation! (Thank you for ever, Krithika Prakash ) 10. Q&A by Vikas Swarup (For Mumbai - just for Mumbai...) 11. OSHOs Freedom: The Courage to Be Yourself (One of the most dangerous books ever) 12. Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini, and yes everything else he has and will pen down in future! (For it made friendship matter to me, finally) 13. Brida by Paulo Coelho - and all his writings ofcourse! (Irish, Irish, Irish, Witch!) 14. Digital Fortress by Dan Brown - and everything else he has ever written! (Fast! Faster, mahn! XD ) 15. One Day by David Nicholls (Currently reading, and the ONLY romantic book that can get into the list! That too in just the first 100 pages! ) The special mentions : The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy (Yes I completed the gift, Medha Dwivedi), Shantaram (Half way I think Rashmi Priya), Wise & Otherwise by Sudha Murthy, Malgudi Days by R.K.Narayan ( ;), Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky, House of Night series (the closest I got to a vampire-book), Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë, Julius Caesar (play) and Midsummer Nights Dream by William Shakespeare, Lord Of the Rings Trilogy by J. R. R. Tolkien (I hate to compare it to the awesome movies it was made into - sometimes!) and and and The Motorcycle Diaries by Ernesto Che Guevara!....okay - Stopping right here! And well, all the known reading fraternity members have already been challenged or have put down their lists, I think, till now! I would like to nominate : Shruti Sinha , Dev Ghosh , Madhav Chandra , Saurabh Priyadarshi , Aseem Kashyap and Priyank Mangalam for this challenge - for I think I am the one among the few people around yall who knows of some of your book-laden days! :D
