What really pisses me off about not giving teachers and DCS employees raises is a lot of times we personally use our own money to purchase items for kids that we dont necessarily get reimbursed for. When we do get reimbursed for food we purchased we dont receive the sales tax back. This is our money that comes out of our pockets. I will never be wealthy because of the career I chose but it would be nice to be given a raise for all the hard work I do and the hours outside the 37.5 I work because thats just how it goes as a social worker. I have to be available 24 hours a day 7 days a week. I get calls and texts all hours of the day and night. Teachers work their bottoms off and do the same things social workers do. We receive yearly evaluations that dont mean squat if you dont reward your employees. The moral is low when you dont reward your employees. Productivity is low when you dont reward your employees. It doesnt to a PhD to figure this out. Governor Haslem you suck!!!
