What should the Christian Church be, defeated, militant or triumphant? Eph 1:3-6 (NKJV) 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, 4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, 5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, 6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved. Considering that we are in the state shown above, one wonders why so many Christians today suffer and live under oppression, depression, strife, fear and manipulation today. There are three ways the Christians are living today, defeated, militant and triumphant. 1. Defeated Christians - They are ignorant of the fact that they are seated with Christ in heavenly places way above principalities and hold all authority. It is the picture of a policeman who has his uniform and seal, but walks around uncertain about HIS IDENTITY and thus gets trampled on all the time! 2. Militant Christian - They believe that though they are in heavenly places, they are still "battling" to try and gain victory over Satan and his hordes of hell daily! 3. Triumphant Christian - These no only KNOW that they are victors through JESUS CHRIST and the finished work of the cross, but they also exercise their AUTHORITY in Christ and thus reign victoriously over all areas of their lives! They know that Satan was defeated 2,000 years ago and rules only on a limited basis! The police officer who knows the authority he carries in the name of the president of the republic is more than confident that no elements or law breakers will escape him or the system! We too have authority over snakes (fallen angels) and scorpions (demons) and will never come to any harm! Live victoriously over sin, death and disease, subdue the wiles of the flesh and the works of the enemy! Only those that purposely choose to remove their uniform (indulging in sin) shall be tormented physically by the enemy. Live in Christ and reign victorious!
