What will you do when Jesus Christ comes back? Here are two - TopicsExpress

What will you do when Jesus Christ comes back? Here are two possibilities. 1) People will flee to caves in the rocks and to holes in the ground from the fearful presence of the Lord and the splendor of his majesty, when he rises to shake the earth Isaiah 2:19 2) For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words. 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 Personally I prefer number two. I know beyond any doubt that someday Jesus Christ will return to the earth as King of Kings and Lord of Lords to judge the living and the dead. No one knows when this will happen, the Bible clearly makes this point. When this day comes it will be too late to repent and make Jesus the Lord of your life. This will only happen after everyone has had a chance to hear the Gospel. That leaves no excuse for the choice we make, whether it be to accept the message of salvation, or to reject it. We have to make sure we listen to the right teaching, so that we are steered onto the correct path. The way that you can determine what is right and what is misleading is simple. If the preacher is always telling you what makes you feel good, its probably wrong. Being a Christian is not easy. The Bible tells us, “The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.” Psalm 34:18-19 In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. 2 Timothy 4:1-4 Now, brothers and sisters, about times and dates we do not need to write to you, for you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. You are all children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be awake and sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, get drunk at night. But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, putting on faith and love as a breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet. For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. 1Thessalonians 5:1-11 The choice is yours. Rejoice at the coming of Jesus and embrace your salvation, or try and hide in fear from the wrath of His judgment. Jesus loves you and died for your sins, so that He could have you live with Him forever instead of having to punish you. Choose life. Repent of your sins and make Jesus the Lord of your life today.
