Whats the first thing that pops into your head when you think of the word immigrant. -Probably a person from down south of the border right? Well, besides them being deindigenized (removed from their roots), they actually contribute alot more than most of us think. Also, there are many immigrants that come from many other countries, but for some reason, the majority the media focuses on is down south. The reason being race. That is all it comes down to. Just for more information, there are many who come here who are connected to their roots (Indigenous Quiche, Qeqchi, Ixil, etc) but who are turned right back around. Messed up, as this was all one land at one time and all shared. Also, just for histories sake, the modern day -using foreign words given to them here- Comanche, Hopi, Paiute, etc descended from tribes in what is now Mexico. Just food for thought.
