When I first got this piano it sounded pretty decent but it was one key off. If you dont know anything about piano tuning Im here to tell you a few things. Number 1... Every single key has at least one to three strings. And technically theyre metal wires. Number 2... Dont go thinking these wires are in order with the keys because theyre not. Number 3... You should always start at G3 then go to G3# ... Never skip to A3 just because its the next white key. Hance this is why I say go in order to the wires not the keys. Number 4... Never assume you can tune a piano in just a couple hours unless youre a professional. Plan on designating at least 8 to 10 hours of your time. Maybe not all on the same day. Or youre going to end up breaking a wire or your face and arm will be slashed! Take your time because as I found out pianos are the most cantankerous, anal, and unforgiving musical instruments made to man. Number 5... Buy the right equipment. Or youll end up stripping the pins. Mutes are a must without the proper sound it will never sound correct. Number 6... Never try to tune a piano with kids in the room. Or even in the next room the slightest noise interrupts the tuning mechanism or device. Number 7... When you working on a key that has three strings always work yourself from the inside out. Number 8... When in doubt leave it to the professionals this is the most excruciating most stressful and exhausting task I have ever accomplished. I was very patient because of my love for the piano. And if you dont absolutely love the piano. Then theres no way to tune a piano yourself. It has to be perfect!!! Or there is no point!!!
