When I talk about healthy risks I’m basically saying that we need to try new things that challenge us without doing any harm. For instance, being willing to open up and share how I’m really feeling with a friend can be a healthy risk. Or taking a yoga class for the first time. I did this several years ago and while it may not seem like much, I was worried about how I’d look and felt self-conscious. This can be enough to raise one’s anxiety. I have found that by taking healthy risks I have been able not just address ways to improve how I live with Bipolar Disorder, but I grow as a person. This process is invaluable and helps me to learn my limitations as well as my strengths. It also does wonders for my self-esteem. bphope/bphopeblog/post/Getting-Out-of-the-Comfort-Zone.aspx
