When a young man who was studying the 1950s in school was talking to Billy Joel and saying that the whole time period was boring and that nothing important happened, the man who was a child of the 50s took exception. So what did he do? He wrote this rhymin madness he sang and sorta rapped to called We Didnt Start The Fire that outlined events and things that happened between 1949-63 that werent boring. The song jumped up eight places from No. 21 to No. 13 on November 9, 1989 and a month later would be Joels third and final No. 1 hit, spending two weeks at the top.
