When it is perceived that only one national party cares about the environment, neither party is motivated to address the issue. Being FOR the environment does not ever mean that you are AGAINST industry or AGAINST jobs... it means that you are FOR the industry acting RESPONSIBLY to produce their products and coexist with the communities... By forcing these companies to clean up after themselves does not eliminate jobs... it CREATES new jobs to build the air scrubbers, manufacture the water filters and to hire the sub-contractors for remedial land restoration. This also falls in line with our Tea Partys belief that taxes are meant for certain governmental responsibilities and NOT for reclaiming our environment, but to ensure that the violators bear that cost 100%... Regulation done properly is worth every nickel in taxes spent... Regulations with no teeth is a tremendous waste of our taxes when the regulators think their sole purpose is to hand out permits as though they were handing our candy at Halloween Send our state politicians a loud message tomorrow... Send Col.
