When last we left the Charter saga, I had been promised a callback from a manager on Thursday and a visit from a technician, here at the house, on Friday between 1 and 3pm. Nobody will be surprised that neither of those things happened that way. I received no call yesterday but Beth did (They said something about being at the house? Thats an odd thing for a manager to say...). She keeps her cell off during the day and I just didnt have the energy to track them down last night. So, today, Im working from home. Im working, Im working, its suddenly 2:45pm and I havent heard a thing from Charter. I call them and find out: * They came out _yesterday_ between 1 and 3 even though we had scheduled it for today. Why? They dont know. * When they couldnt get ahold of me (by calling the phone number that ISNT MINE), they left. * There is nobody available for the rest of the day today, wouldnt I like to sit around the house on Saturday, waiting for Charter to not show up then? I was not amused. I suggested that, since I was sitting here waiting for them to meet their commitment, that they do so right now. But theres nobody available, sir. Not an acceptable answer, lets talk to your supervisor. But theres nobody available, sir. Try again, Mr. Supervisor. After several go-rounds, theres somebody available. He calls me at 6:30, hell be here in 15 minutes. While Im waiting for him...the manager who promised to call me back yesterday CALLS ME BACK. Oh, yeah, I didnt call you yesterday, I got kinda busy. But, I see they fixed a problem halfway across the county from you earlier today so maybe thatll fix you too? Cable guy shows up. Looks at all the things that I already know are not the problem. Its not the jack in my house. Its not the cable. Its not the cable modem that they replaced
