When the state of ISRAEL was created after World War II, it meant that MANY thousands of indigenous people were forced to evacuate their homes and their lands in order to make way for the imposition of a Jewish State, a new country within their midst. To inhabitants, It might not have felt different than when a farmer owns several hundred acres of land... and in one fell swoop, he is ordained to concede the bulk of his acreage to an incoming foe. RESENTMENT was BOUND to follow. and resentment ALWAYS leads to CONFLICT. For the Arab forced to give up his land, the incursion has continued to STING. For the Jew occupying Arab land, roots have been established and he feels entitled to defend his territory in much the same way as any Arab protects his family. Adding fuel to the fire, BOTH sides believe in FAIRY TALE gods, and BOTH believe that their own private TINKERBELL provides the ONLY path to salvation. THIS is an INSANE war. It is as complex as it is FUTILE. It is as murderous and relentless as any war in history. THIS is as LOW as it gets...
